Hakka Spiced Chicken Bites

Ingredients

  • 500 g boneless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp Chief Hakka Seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Chief soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp Chief All-Purpose Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Chief Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil (for marination)
  • Oil for frying
  • Fresh cilantro and green onions for garnish

Method

  1. Marinate the Chicken:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the chicken pieces with Chief Hakka Seasoning, soy sauce, Chief All-Purpose Seasoning, and vegetable oil. Mix well to ensure all pieces are evenly coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Coating:
In a separate bowl, mix the beaten egg and Chief Cornstarch. This mixture will help the chicken achieve a crispy coating.
  3. Coat the Chicken:
Dip the marinated chicken pieces into the egg and cornstarch mixture, ensuring each piece is well-coated.
  4. Fry the Chicken:
Heat oil in a deep pan or wok over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the chicken pieces in batches. Fry until they are golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per batch. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  5. Garnish and Serve:
Transfer the fried chicken bites to a serving platter. Garnish with fresh cilantro and chopped green onions. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce or as part of a festive Eid meal.
Enjoy your flavourful and crispy Hakka Spiced Chicken Bites!
