You will need:
2 cup soaked & ground split peas
1 ripe lime
2 cloves garlic
1 grated onion
1 tsp CHIEF saffron
2 tbsp. flour
6 dasheen leaves
1 head ground chives
2 tsp CHIEF salt
Pepper to taste



1. Steam dasheen leaves with juice of lime, (remove stems)
2. Mix all other ingredients
3. Arrange leaves to form an overlapping rectangle on a pastry board, spread with pea mixture
4. Roll up and tie with string
5. Steam for 15 minutes in a steamer
6. Cool and cut in 1” slices coat with seasoned flour and fry in hot oil until light brown
7. Drain on brown paper, serve hot. In place of seasoned flour more pholourie mixture may be patted to sides of roll before frying
